In August 2021, COERR organized Waste Management and Waste Separation for children and youth who attended COERR’s Child Friendly Spaces in several temporary Shelters.
The objectives were to raise youth and children’ awareness in waste management through 3R, i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle. It is expected that youth and children will adopt the concept and practice of waste separation they have learned into their daily living behavior. With less quantity of waste from household, community should be cleaner and people healthier. The impact on the environment will be lessen.
COERR Mae Sot organized learning activities in Ban Umpiem Temporary Shelter during August 5th - 6th, in which 22 children of 10 girls and 12 boys attended.
Then, on August 9th – 11th, learning activities were held in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, in which 253 children and youth of 99 females and 154 males attended.
COERR Kanchanaburi organized training at Ban Don Yang temporary shelter for children attending Child Friendly Spaces numbering 66, consisting of 42 females and 24 males on August 24th -25th.
On 24 August, the leadership training in waste management and environment preservation, waste impact on environment, clean and healthy communities was offered to 25 schoolchildren of 16 females and 9 males.
COERR Mae Sarieng organized waste management training in Ban Mae La Oon on July 30th and August 6th, for 64 participants of 38 females and 26 males.
COERR Mae Hong Son organized learning activity in Ban Mai Nai Soi Temporary Shelter on August 7th and 14th for 100 participants of 60 females and 40 males; and in Ban Mae Surin Temporary Shelter on August 14th, for 42 youth of 25 females and 17 males.
